2. INSTALLATION

Installation phases:

Inserting the SIM card;

Mobile PhoneTools installation;
Modem driver Installation;
New GPRS dial-up.
Before connecting Digicom GPRS Card S, insert the SIM card, then run the installation
software.
2.1 INSERTING THE SIM CARD
Digicom GPRS Card S requires a small SIM card (3 Volt), which is provided by your GSM provider
Attention: check with your GSM provider if your SIM is enabled for DATA (GPRS) and FAX
traffic, if not ask him for these services. For FAX reception he will give you an other
number.
2.1.1 SIM CARD
Probably the SIM card will be supplied in a card holder compliant
with the devices using the full-size SIM.
1. Remove the SIM carefully from the SIM holder.
2. Insert the SIM into the SIM card reader as show below.
3. Press the SIM card with a pointed object. To remove the SIM card, use the apposite ejector
present on the modem.
4. Now you are ready to SOFTWARE MOBILE PHONETOOLS INSTALLATION, follow next
paragraph.

2.2 SOFTWARE MOBILE PHONETOOLS INSTALLATION

Insert the Cd-Rom you found in the package, then go through the following steps: Start / Run /
Browse... search and select the Setup.exe file in the Software/PhoneTools/En folder. Click OK.
Attention: in Windows®XP and Windows®2000 you have to be administrator.
1. During the mobile PhoneTools installation, please follow the on-screen instructions.
2. At the end, select both the settings.
3. Run mobile PhoneTools to begin MODEM DRIVER INSTALLATION. Follow next paragraph.
4. Remove the Cd-Rom from the computer.
