BENCHMARK 250
QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE
This describes how to unpack, install, and set up the Benchmark 250 system. It is a quick
overview. It does NOT replace the Benchmark 250 Installation Manual (P/N 799030).
Be sure to review all safety information provided in the Benchmark 250
Installation Manual before operating the system.

LIFTING
THE MACHINE
1. Remove the front cover by lifting it
up, off of its guides.
2. Attach the lifting straps to the hook
of a hoist.
3. IMPORTANT: Insert the metal plate
attached to the wooden stabilizer into
the slot on top of the machine.
4. Slowly lift the machine with a hoist,
steadying it at all times.
5. Move the machine to the final
operating location, and slowly lower it
into position on a workbench capable
of bearing the full weight of the
machine (155 kg).
6. Remove the lifting materials.

IMPORTANT: The workbench must be stable during
system operation, with no movement or vibration.

UNPACKING
THE MACHINE
1. Move the shipping carton or crate
to the installation site.
2.
Cut and remove the metal bands
around the shipping carton/crate.
3. Remove the top of the carton and
cardboard sleeve, or disassemble
the crate.
4. Remove the external packing
material.
REMOVING THE
X RESTRAINT
1. Remove the X-axis end stop screw
and shipping screw.
2. Remove the shipping restraint.
If the small, black X-axis

ball retainer falls out, put it back in

place before continuing.
Do not remove/discard
the end stop. It is essential to the
operation of the X-axis transport.
3. Re-install the X-axis end stop screw.
