8. Setup

Diagrams are provided for reference purposes only. Markings or colours may differ from the actual vehicle/
remote control.

a) Remote control buttons

1 On/off switch
2 Photo/video recording button (requires smartphone app,
see section 9)
Short press: Take a picture
Long press: Start/end a video recording
3 Hole for inserting the smartphone holder
4 LED indicator
5 Steering wheel for steering
6 Engine lever
7 Battery compartment (on the bottom)

b) Inserting batteries into the remote control

Using rechargeable batteries in the transmitter results in a significantly shorter battery life due to the lower
voltage (disposable batteries = 1.5 V, rechargeable batteries = 1.2 V). For this reason, always use non-
rechargeable batteries in the remote control.
• Remove the screw from the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the remote control (A). Slide the battery
compartment cover (B) forwards and remove it from the remote control.
• Insert 4 AA batteries into the battery compartment (C). Ensure that the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity
(positive/+ and negative/-, see marking on the batteries and the battery compartment).
• Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it in place with the screw that you previously removed.
