Determine Installation Location

You must ensure that clearances will be met and that
the vent length will be within required limits. Consider
the installation environment. Requirements for the
gas line and electrical connection can be found in their
respective installation sections of this manual.
Environment
Air surrounding the venting, and vent termination(s) is
used for combustion and must be free of any
compounds that cause corrosion of internal
components. These include corrosive compounds
that are found in aerosol sprays, detergents, bleaches,
cleaning solvents, oil based paints/ varnishes, and
refrigerants.
The furnace, venting, and vent termination(s) should
not be installed in any areas where the air may
contain these corrosive compounds. If it is necessary
for a furnace to be located in areas that may contain
corrosive compounds, the following
instructions are strongly recommended.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR:
• DO NOT Install in areas where air for combustion
might be contaminated with chemicals.
• Before installation, consider where air has the
ability to travel within the building to the furnace.
• Terminate the unit as far away as possible from
any air inlet vents. Corrosive fumes may be
released through these vents when air is not
being brought in through them.
• Chemicals that are corrosive in nature should not
be stored or used near the furnace or vent
termination.
Damage and repair due to corrosive compounds in the
air is not covered by warranty.
