    The minimum recommended size of tractor for operating the machine comfortably depends mainly on the forage being cut. On flat ground McHale recommends a tractor size of at least 80 kW. On hilly ground or difficult conditions, an additional 10 to 15 kW is advisable.

    McHale Pro Glide R3100 Rear Disc Mower Machine requirements & preparation 6.1 Side guard latch The side guard must be elevated and latched before raising the mower into the transport position, or when replacing blades or carrying out maintenance. The safety latch (A) must be retracted in order to raise the side guard but latches automatically when lowered.

Then slide the installation lever in fully from the right-hand side, just behind the blade. Push down fully on the lever, until the old worn blade can be removed. If the opposite side of the blade is good, then simply invert it so that the new sharp cutting edge is exposed.

    McHale Pro Glide R3100 Rear Disc Mower Field operation & machine adjustments Detailed instructions on how to operate the machine are outlined in the following pages. These should be used along with learning the precise functionality of each adjustment. 8.1 Cutting height The machine is fitted with an inclinometer to assist in setting the correct levels/angles and cutting height.
  • Page 42 McHale Pro Glide R3100 Rear Disc Mower All adjustment regarding cutting height (Y) is achieved by varying the top link (X) on top of the mower frame, which alters the angle of inclination (Z). When the frame is level vertically then Z = 5°. Reducing dimension (X) increases the slope or angle (Z) of the cutting discs, which lowers the cutting height (Y) and vice versa.
