  • Page 2 ScorpionTrack Thatcham Category 6 Stolen Vehicle Tracking System Please Note. The ST50 must be installed to Thatcham TRI guidelines. The ST50 is recognised by the insurance industry under Thatcham Certificate number TQA224. Prior to installation of the ScorpionTrack unit it is imperative that the product, customer and vehicle registration have been completed on-line.
  • Page 3 Installation Guidelines 1. Unit Install Ensure that the ScorpionTrack unit is fitted in a covert position that is not easily accessible and wherever possible, please avoid fitting the unit near to vehicle ECU’s or radio receivers and amplifiers. The unit should also be secured using cable ties and it is imperative that the fixing kit provided is used to secure the unit in place and protect it from vibration.
  • Page 4 3. Permanent Ground Connection (-31) Black Wire This connection should be made as close to the unit as possible. Try to avoid using the same earth with any other system using a new and unused ground point and treat for corrosion as required using the vehicle manufacturers recommended process.

Check for RF Interference Whilst the ScorpionTrack unit has in-built filters to prevent RF interference, a simple check can be performed to establish whether the unit is causing additional interference. Before making the connections, check the vehicle radio receives good quality reception by auto searching through the FM and/or DAB channels.
  • Page 6 7. Commissioning the unit and LED status indicators Before connecting the ScorpionTrack unit make sure that the vehicle is in an area with clear- sight of the sky. The antenna fitment recommendations are mentioned in section 2. of this document. Ignition must be on. N.B.
