Language and input
Change the settings for text input. Some options may not be available depending on the
selected language.
On the Settings screen, tap Language and input.
• L anguage: Select a display language for all menus and apps.
• D efault: Select a default keyboard type for text input.
• S amsung Chinese IME: Change the Samsung Chinese IME keyboard settings.
• S amsung keyboard: Change the Samsung keyboard settings.
The available options may vary depending on the region or service provider.
• G oogle voice typing: Change the voice input settings. Tick this option to use voice input
for entering text.
• L anguage: Select a language for handwriting recognition. You can search for files
containing handwriting in the selected language.
• T ext-to-speech options: Change the text-to-speech settings.
• N otification readout: Set the device to read aloud notifications when you have incoming
calls, messages, or events.
• P ointer speed: Adjust the pointer speed for the mouse or trackpad connected to your
device.
Date and time
Access and alter the following settings to control how the device displays the time and date.
On the Settings screen, tap Date and time.
If the battery remains fully discharged or removed from the device, the time and date
is reset.
• A utomatic date and time: Automatically update the time and date when moving across
time zones.
