Page 11: Coupling To The Tractor
It must be coupled using the three point hydraulic lifting system of the tractor, in the following manner: - Place the tractor so that the power take-off and the SDN-170A actuation axle of the are aligned; - Adjust the height of the tractor hydraulic arms so that they are the same height as the SDN-170 connecting pins;... - Page 12 Note: See the following illustrations to see the correct positioning for connecting to category I and II tractors. In order to connect the SDN-170A to category II tractors, it is necessary to use coupling bushings type C. fig.03 It is possible to invert the position of the connecting pin, as shown in figures 4 and 5. - Page 13 Lifting the cutting bar The SDN-170A is equipped with a hydraulic piston for placing the cutting bar in a vertical position, appropriate for transporting the machine connected to the tractor. The tractor must be equipped with a remote controller valve to operate this by a single action.
- Page 14 Transport and operating position TRANSPORT POSITION From the tractor seat, pull rope A to release the cutting bar latch. Activate the remote controller valve of the tractor, and then the piston will lift the cutting bar, placing it in the transport position (vertical). Then, assemble the SAFETY LATCH on piston B and place the cotter pin C (fig.11).

Initial operation Before operating the SDN-170A, carefully check the following: - See if there are no objects or tools on the machine. - See if there are no animals or people nearby. After the mower is properly connected and lubricated, start the tractor motor and let it run for a few minutes idling. -

Replace all the shielding before turning the machine on again. Safety devices The SDN-170A is equipped with a safety device for protecting the cutting bar if it hits any obstacle during its operation. If this occurs, the cutting bar will automatically articulate backwards, thereby avoiding possible damage to the equipment. -

When necessary, replace all the belts. fig.19 Blades The blades in SDN-170A are reversible. Change sides when you observe accentuated wear. CHANGING THE BLADE: When the cutting bar is in the normal operating position, place a wooden shim or something similar between the discs to prevent their movement. - Page 19 Routine lubrication is the bets guarantee of good operation and durability in equipment. The MAX and MIN markings on the oil dipstick must not be exceeded. Correct oil level will guarantee a long operating lifetime to the components. An excess or lack of oil can cause overheating in the transmission, resulting in serious damage to your machine. Place the cutting bar in the operating position (horizontal). Remove oil plug C. The oil must reach the oil plug hole C. If this is not true, remove oil plug D and fill with SAE-90 oil until the appropriate level, which means, until the oil plug hole C.

Before lubricating, clean the grease fittings, in order to avoid contamination of the grease and replace them when they are damaged. El espieral A del demarcador puede ser regulado, para mayor o menor tensión, de acuerdo con las condiciones del producto a ser recolectado. Recoloque todas las protecciones antes de encender la máquina nuevamente. Dispositivo de seguridad La SDN-170A cuenta con un dispositivo de seguridad que protégé la barra de corte si la misma golpea en algún obstáculo durante la operación. Si eso ocurre, la barra de corte es automáticamente articulada hacia atrás, evitando posibles daños al equipo. - Page 44 Cuchillas Las cuchillas de la SDN-170A son reversibles. Cambie el lado de uso al observar desgaste acentuado. CAMBIA DE LA CUCHILLA: Con la barra de corte en la posición normal de trabajo, coloque un calce de madera, o algo similar, entre los discos para evitar que los mismos giren.

- Page 46 BARRA DE CORTE VERIFICACIÓN DIARIA DEL NIVEL DEL ACEITE: Coloque la máquina sobre una superficie plana, de manera que la barra esté nivelada en los dos sentidos. Utilice un nivel para verificar la nivelación. Si necesario, ajuste la posición de la barra utilizando calces de madera.

Los indicadores MAX y MIN del nivel de aceite de la barra no deben ser excedidos. El nivel correcto del aceite irá a garantizar una larga vida útil a los componentes. El exceso o la falta de aceite podrá causar el recalentamiento de la transmisión, resultando en daños graves. Coloque la barra de corte en la posición de trabajo (horizontal). Retire el bulón C. El aceite debe estar alcanzando el orificio del bulón C.
