CLINICAL IR THERMOMETER
GETTING STARTED
• The thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries (included.)
• Before each use, it is recommended to clean the sensor.
To clean the sensor, gently wipe its surface with a cotton
swab slightly moistened with alcohol and then immediately
wipe dry with a clean cotton swab. After cleaning, allow at
least 20 minutes of drying time before taking temperatures.
MEASURING FOREHEAD TEMPERATURE
• Confirm that the probe is clean and put on the forehead adaptor.
• Touch the forehead adaptor to the center of the forehead
and press the Human Head button to take a measurement,
keeping the thermometer flat. You will hear a beep or
a voice announcing the temperature, indicating that the
measurement is complete.
MEASURING EAR TEMPERATURE
• Confirm that the probe is clean and remove forehead adaptor.
• Insert the probe gently into the ear canal and hold the
thermometer so that the probe aims straight at the
eardrum. Hold the outer ear and gently pull toward the
back of the head to straighten the ear canal.
• Press the Ear button to take a measurement. You will hear
a beep or a voice announcing the temperature, indicating
that the measurement is complete.
MEASURING OBJECT TEMPERATURE
• Confirm that the probe is clean and remove forehead adaptor.
• Press the Human Head and Ear buttons at the same time
to enter TARGET mode.
• Press the Ear button to take a measurement, keeping the
thermometer probe within 1 cm of the surface. You will
hear a beep or the voice announce the temperature,
indicating that the measurement is complete.
UNDERSTANDING RESULTS
• Normal–Green light: Result between 96.0°F and 99.3°F
• Raised–Red light: Result between 99.4°F and 100.3°F
• High–Red light+"FE": Result between 100.4°F and 109.3°F
