To use the Medline oral digital thermometer MDS9950B:

1. Turn on the thermometer and wait for the display to show "<--->" and a flashing "°F" or "°C".
2. Place the thermometer under the tongue, in the pocket near the root, on the right or left side of the mouth.
3. Keep the mouth closed during the entire reading.
4. Ensure normal breathing through the nose during measurement.
