RS-232 Connector

This connector is used for interfacing to a modem or other
RS-232 device. See Figure 12. Connection is made using a
user supplied cable (for standard modem connections, a
standard RS-232 DCE to DTE modem cable will work). See
PIN OUTS.

DIP Switches

Prior to connecting power to the unit, the internal DIP
switches should be set for the desired operation. The
LTC 8780 Series unit contains electrostatic- sensitive
devices. Grounded wrist straps must be worn and proper
ESD safety precautions should be observed when adjusting
the DIP switches.
Note: The LTC 8780 must ALWAYS be powered off
and on if any changes are made to the internal DIP
switches.
Remove the cover following the directions below. Locate
DIP switches S101 through S105. See Figure 3 for their
positions on the printed circuit board. Set the DIP switches
to obtain the desired operation, then re-install the cover.

Cover Removal

Removal of the cover and adjustment of
internal controls should only be performed
by qualified service personnel — not user
serviceable. The unit should always be
unplugged before removing the cover and
remain unplugged while the cover is
removed.

Desensamble de la Cubierta
Atención: La cubierta ha de ser removida
solo por personal de servicio autorizado -
este equipo no contiene partes que requieran
mantenimiento por usuarios. Antes de
remover la cubierta asegurarse de que el
equipamiento ha sido desconectado de la
alimentación. Esta debe permanecer
desconectada mientras la cubierta este fuera
de lugar.
The cover is fastened to the chassis by two screws on the
bottom near the rear of the unit. Disassembly is as shown.
