Operating instructions
Ceiling+wall double-sided LED escape route sign
Item no. 1885110
Intended use
The product serves as a double-sided sign for an escape route in closed rooms and is intended
for wall or ceiling mounting. The escape route sign is illuminated by means of 15 LEDs.
Power is supplied via a 220 - 240 V/AC 50 Hz mains connection. In the event of a power
failure, the product will be illuminated for up to 3 hours with the built-in rechargeable battery.
The rechargeable battery charging time must be observed. The product complies with the
EN 60598-2-22: 2014 and EN 1838: 2013 standards.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture
(e.g. in a bathroom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the operating
instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third
parties together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety
instructions. If you do not follow the safety information and information on
proper handling in these operating instructions, we will assume no liability for
any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate
the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a
dangerous toy for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorised use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Have the installation carried out by a qualified electrician. Work on the power grid
may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
• Attach the product to a load-bearing wall or ceiling. The attachment must be on
a flat surface.
• Ensure that no cables or wires are damaged when drilling holes or tightening
screws. Accidentally drilling into electrical cables can cause a fatal electric shock!
Look after your own safety when using electric tools (e.g. a drill). Wear eye protection.

• Do not use force when tightening, as this may destroy/damage the product and
make the warranty/guarantee invalid!
• Do not overtighten the screws. This may damage the threads and reduce the
strength of the fitting.
• Ensure that no unauthorised persons are present when mounting the product.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges
or subjected to mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains
cable from extreme heat or cold. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A
damaged mains cable can cause a fatal electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if there are any signs of damage. First, disconnect
the associated mains cable from the power supply (e.g. via the associated circuit
breaker). Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• Never cover the product. Ensure sufficient heat dissipation.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if
you have concerns about safety.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a
specialist repair centre.
• If you have any questions which are not answered in these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) LED light
• Caution, LED light:
- Do not look directly at the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
c) Rechargeable batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed when inserting the rechargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as
they constitute a choking hazard for children and pets.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never attempt
to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. This may cause an explosion!
• Charge the batteries regularly. Make sure the product has a power supply to
enable this.
