When operating medium-frequency inverters a harmonic load must be
accounted for in the mains system.

The 5th, 7th, 11th, 13th, 15th and 17th harmonic wave are the characte­
ristic harmonics in the mains current curve. The harmonic component
depends om the welding power.
The harmonic content max be considerably reduced by using smoo­
thing reactors with 4% short-circuit voltage.
