A flashing red exclamation mark on the Smeg fridge model ZAFA403NX indicates a "Failure" warning. This means that some part of the fridge is out of order or there is a failure in the cooling process. Possible causes include the fridge being plugged in for the first time, a long power interruption of at least one hour, or the door being left open. If the door is closed and the fridge has been running for an hour but the issue persists, service assistance should be contacted.
