    1. General 1.1 Introduction of ATEX ATEX is an acronym of “Atmosphéochres Explosives” from French. This includes two European Union (EU) directives which regulate the manufacture, selection and usage of equipments in dangerous zone and has become a compulsory act between members of EU since July 2003.

management system, and each product can reach the same standard as an EU model tested sample. According to different conditions of conformity assessment the appendix of ATEX 2014/34/EU also regulates corresponding QA requirements. The confirmation of requirement of the above mentioned QA system is supervised by EU designated authorities, and the so called QA system is not only the field covered by ISO 9001.

400 N-m Table 2.1 cable glands and plugs tightening torque Hanbell selection software provides working current and MCC based on the working condition, which can be the reference for selecting electric wiring, magnetic contactor, and fuse. The anti-loose connector can prevent the compressor from sudden motor trip due to motor protector error.

The Ex cable entry of cable box must installed at least by ATEX certified cable glands. It is required to ensure that all bolts, plugs and cable glands are sealed in Ex cable box to avoid malfunction. ※ Sealant can be used LOCTITE 554 or similar nature of glue, but according to EN 60079-14 standard can’t using the tape seal.

In addition, Hanbell also offers 250W oil heater to keep adequate lubricant oil temperature for large external oil separator and applications in areas with low ambient temperature. Specification: 250W; 110V or 220V; IP 54; Outer diameter of cable: 6~8mm Note: If compressor is installed in low ambient temperature, it is recommended to insulate oil separator against cold ambience.

  • Page 32 Percent voltage unbalance = 100 x NEMA states that poly-phase motors shall operate successfully under running conditions at rated load when voltage unbalance at the motor terminals does not exceed 1%. Furthermore, operation of a motor with over 5% unbalance is not recommended for it probably results in motor damage.
  • Page 33: Lubricants

To solve this problem, use of oil heaters can warm up oil before starting. If the compressor operates under critical operating conditions, an extra oil cooler is required – please refer to Hanbell selection software for the required capacity and oil flow of the extra oil cooler. High-viscosity oil is recommended to apply in high operating conditions because high discharge temperature will make viscosity of oil lower.

If any optional accessory is required and out of above mentioned standard accessory, please contact Hanbell for detailed specification and price.
  • Page 39 Suction and discharge check valve Hanbell standard check valve (vertical type) is gravity-driven with characteristics of large flow volume and low pressure differential. After shut-down of compressor, Teflon taper guider inside can simultaneously seal up the precisely machined base of check valve by gravity force to effectively prevent return of high-pressured gas to compressor.
