Instructions
2 to 8 player game
You will need...
Football pitch game board
Footballer counters
Footballs (one set per team)
Red cards
Yellow cards
Dice
Coin (optional not included)
Set up
Split players into teams. Each player should have a football
player to represent them on the playing field. The red and yellow cards should
be sorted into two separate piles and placed face down on the spaces marked
on the board. The footballs should be placed face up (or face down if you
want to make it more challenging) on the team's bench. Place all players in
the centre circle, ready to start. Flip a coin to decide who should go first. If
you don't have a coin, use a dice and nearest to 6 goes first.
How to Play
The first player kicks off by choosing a football from their bench.
The player has to recognise and say the letters, then say the sound of the
letters on the football before they can roll the dice.
If the player answers correctly, they put the football on their player's head
and roll the dice to move forward.
The football is safe when the player has 'scored'. To do this they must land
on the goal space.
When the player has scored, the football is left in the goal and the player
returns to the centre circle, ready to start again on their next turn.
The game ends when all the footballs have reached a goal or for a shorter
game, when one team has scored 8 times.

When a player lands on a space with
a red or yellow card they need to pick
up a corresponding card and follow the
instructions. Once the action has been
completed, the card is laid face up next
to the pile of cards. When the
end of the cards is reached,
shuffle the cards and place
them back in the space.
