Replacing an Ink Tank
When replacing an ink tank, check the model number carefully. The printer will not print
properly if the wrong ink tank is used, or installed in the incorrect position.
With this printer, ink tanks must be installed in the order indicated below, starting from the
right of the printhead.
• Yellow:
BCI-3eY
• Magenta: BCI-3eM
• Cyan:
BCI-3eCs
• Black:
BCI-3eBK
Note
Damage caused by using a refilled cartridge is not covered by the Canon
warranty. Canon recommends using only original Canon ink tanks to
ensure the best quality.

Ensure that the printer is on, then open the front cover.
The printhead holder moves to the center.
