    © Cashflow 2612 Engineers Handbook OPERATION Functional Overview The acceptance of a note in a MEI Note Acceptor proceeds through the following steps: • Note Detection • Note Transport • Note Recognition • Note Validation • Credit or Return • Note Storage As a Note is inserted, the acceptor senses its presence and the drive motor is energized.
