PROGRAMMING COMMANDS Language selection (81) The MEP2L incorporates a flash memory with the capacity to store up to four voice synthesis languages for car and programming messages. Unless otherwise indicated, these languages are ES, EN, FR and PO. It is possible to change one or all languages by connecting to a PC via an FTDI cable and the appropriate PC software.
Alarm call mode The Merak MEP2L phone has three modes of operation when establishing outgoing calls. It can be operated according to the strict EN 81-28 standard, in EN 81-28 standard mode with ACK call but without EOA management, or just as a hands-free phone.
Set number of rings in incoming call Set ring number before picking up the call, default value is 3 and must be greater than or equal to 2 rings. When you pick up the call, the MEP2L plays the locution "Enter command” COMMAND PROGRAMMING...
From any telephone with a keypad that communicates with the MEP2L, it is possible to force the hang up of the call to the MEP2L using this sequence (*0#). This is useful in those situations where the MEP2L is known not to be able to detect the line signalling corresponding to the hang-up (busy tone or dead tone), and ends up hanging up by timeout.
Parameter 11 manages the use or non-use of line signalling by the MEP2L for dial-up and hang- up tasks. By default, the MEP2L has this option enabled, so it waits for a dial tone before dialling, and hangs up once it receives a busy tone.
EMERGENCY TELEPHONE FOR LIFTS Periodic Phone Line Check The MEP2L is able to detect whether the telephone line is faulty or unavailable. This check is carried out automatically on a regular basis, at time intervals set by parameter 49. The default value of parameter 49 is 10 minutes.
BEFORE you wire the NC buttons. Multi-car (FW 1.5 or higher) It is possible to share the phone line with up to 4 MEP2L phones. Do not mix different brands and models.
