The above Block Diagram of the Sound circuitry in the
V20 chassis is spread out over three PCBs, PCB-TER-
MINAL, PCB-SIGNAL and PCB-MAIN. Although
the Block Diagram appears similar to other chassis types,
there are differences. The differences include:
• No sub picture sound output is featured.
• The 4.5 mHz Sound I.F. output from the
Main Tuner is the TV's sound source.
• A Sound Detector, external to the Tuner, has
been added.

Sound Circuitry
In the Block Diagram, three individual blocks repre-
sent the Sound I.F. Detector, MCS Decoder and
Audio Control circuits. All three of the circuits are
internal to a new Sound/MCS Decoder IC, generic
#MSP3445G.

• There are no Service Sound Adjustments, these
are automatic.
