5-1 GENERAL.
This chapter contains troubleshooting data in the
form of a conventional troubleshooting chart.
Troubleshooting is required only when malfunctions
are detected either during normal operation or
during periodic servicing of the Pakhammer.
NOTE: WITHIN ONE YEAR OF PURCHASE DATE,
REPAIRS MUST BE MADE BY
THE MANUFACTURER OR WARRANTY (PAGE 7-4)
IS VOID.
TROUBLE
Piston Stops Reciprocating.
Piston Stalls - Slow
Operation.
   

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBABLE CAUSE
Air supply interrupted.
Damage to rear bumper (35).
Broken main piston spring(s) (40). Replace main piston springs as a set.
Broken shuttle valve assembly (28
thru 32).
Plugged holes in shuttle valve
assembly, handle assembly (3
through 12) and/or cylinder (47).
Piston rod (39) or or shuttle
valve assembly frozen.
Lack of lubrication.
 
CHAPTER 5
Refer to chapter 3 for a theory of operation that is
helpful when used
Pakhammer troubleshooting guide given in
Table 5-1. Refer to figure 6-1 for parts identified
by index numbers.
Turn on air supply to Pakhammer.
Check pressure at air supply.
Check hose for bends and kinks.
Replace rear bumper.
Replace shuttle valve assembly.
Clean all air passages to assure free
flow of air.
Warm Pakhammer and air supply with a
heat gun.
Fill oiler and hose assembly (49) 1/2 full
 
in
conjunction
with the
REMEDY
