    E380 Operating Manual COMPANY BACKGROUND For more than eighteen years, thousands of firefighters in thousands of fire departments all across the country have come to rely on see-through-smoke technology provided by ISG / INFRASYS. ISG / INFRASYS is the world leader in the design and development of innovative thermal imaging technology for firefighters.
  • Page 4 The E380 Thermal Imager is not life support equipment and should not be used as such. All users must be thoroughly trained on the proper operation of the E380, its features and full functionality prior to use. This includes understanding thermal images and how they are interpreted.

    E380. There are alignment markings located on the battery and E380 case as show in Figure A. Insert the battery into the E380 so Figure A that the alignment markings connect as illustrated below.

    E380 Operating Manual OPERATOR CONTROLS 6.1 Switching the Thermal Imager On/Off To switch the unit On, press and release the GREEN power button. Upon power up a GREEN LED will illuminate below the bottom of the display. To switch the unit Off, press and hold the GREEN power button.
  • Page 11 Failure to observe any of the low battery warnings and egress to a safe location upon notification, could result in death or serious injury. Overheat Indicator 8.2 Overheat Warning The E380 is equipped with an internal electronics overheat indicator, . See illustration. This indicator will activate when internal electronics have reached temperatures beyond their safe operating range.

    E380 Operating Manual COLOR REFERENCE BAR / HEAT INDICATING COLORATION The E380 is equipped with heat-indicating colorization and a color reference bar. Heat-indicating colorization overlays over the thermal images and is designed to assist users approximate the relative temperature of objects in the scene.

    E380 will automatically select what it thinks is the most appropriate sense mode - unless a firefighter forces the E380 to select a different sense mode than what it automatically selected. The firefighter selects a sense mode by merely pointing the camera’s crosshair.

    The better the characteristic to absorb heat (the higher the emissive value), generally the more accurate the temperature reading. The DDT installed in the E380 assumes an emissivity of 0.95. That is, for objects with emissivity of 0.95, the DDT will return temperature readings accurate to within 10% of the actual temperature.

    11. Inspect the mechanical hardware to make sure no screws have loosened or are missing. 12. Store your E380 in its optional truck mounted charger, or in the delivery case provided. 13. The thermal imager should be cleaned using warm soapy water and nonabrasive cleaners.

    E380 Operating Manual 13. SERVICE PROCEDURE Should any ISG / INFRASYS Thermal Imager or any of its accessories, need repair, refer to the instructions below. Note: Prior to returning the thermal imager, the device should be fully decontaminated. ISG / INFRASYS reserves the right to send the unit back to the user for decontamination.

WARRANTY INFORMATION ISG /INFRASYS warrants the E380 thermal imager to the original owner to be free of defects in material and workmanship under intended use and service for one year from the date of purchase.
