8. Installation and Connection

The connection cables must not be kinked or squashed. This can result in
malfunctions, short circuits and defects in the device.
Connection is only possible when powered down.
• First remove the front plate with the keypad from the plastic housing. For this, turn out
the two attachment screws of the front plate.
• Install the plastic housing on the wall. A round plastic part can be broken out for the
cable supply.
• Use suitable screws and possibly dowels for screwing on. When drilling or screwing
on, observe that no cables or lines are damaged.
• Connect the connection cable to the respective screw terminals. A circuit example is
enclosed on the next page.
• The two screw terminals „12 - 24 V AC/DC" serve connection of the operating voltage.
You may use both direct voltage and alternating voltage, depending on what is available
at the assembly site (e.g. bell transformer or plug-in mains adapter, etc.). For direct
current (DC), observe correct polarity when connecting (plus/+ and minus/-). Polarity
does not matter for alternating current (AC).
• The three screw terminals „N.O.", „N.C." and COM." are directly connected to the
relay contact. The relay has a contact load capacity of max. 28 V, 5 A.
Never connect, e.g. the mains voltage here! There is danger to life from electric
shock!
„N.O." = normally open" = The contact is open when not activated = closer contact
„N.C." = normally closed" = The contact is closed when not activated = opener
contact
„COM." = „Common" = centre contact
• At the screw terminal „EG. IN", the button of a door opener can be connected that is,
e.g., installed inside the room next to the door. When pushing the button, the relay is
activated for the same duration that is also triggered by input of a user code.
If you do not need this function, do not connect anything to the screw terminal
„EG. IN".
