HANDLING AND UNPALLETING Palleted machines shipped in containers are packed two by two for reduced bulk. As soon as the two pallets have been taken out of the container, remove the bolts connect- ing both pallets together to enable handling the machines separately.
Page 7
HANDLING AND UNPALLETING Place the pallet on flat, horizontal ground. Check that all tension hoops are in place and in good condition. Replace any that are damaged or missing. Cut the tension hoops and remove the right and left swath boards. Choose a safe area on the ground to put all unassembled parts.
Page 8
HANDLING AND UNPALLETING Remove the right front plate (the screw and spacer can be scrapped). Using the hoist, ease the left front plate up- wards; then remove it. Note : Re-install the screw, it will be used to reassemble. Remove the box of unassembled items. - 7 -...

TILTING THE MACHINE/PALLET ASSEMBLY On machines palleted without wheels : Before attempting to tilt over a machine palleted without wheels, install the wheels using an appropriate lifting device. Ensure that the wheels are fitted with the valve stem fac- ing the outside of the machine. Slightly tighten wheel bolts.
Page 14
TILTING THE MACHINE/PALLET ASSEMBLY Keep all people clear from the load zone. Slowly lift the hoist till the two slings are tensioned. The machine will tilt over automatically if sling length is as stated previously. Slowly tip over the machine/pallet assembly until it rests on the pallet and wheels.
TILTING THE MACHINE/PALLET ASSEMBLY Using a lifting device fitted with forks which do not exceed 1.20 m / 3’11” length (minimum lifting capacity of 3000 daN / 6600 lbs. at a distance of 0.60 m / 2’ from the heel of the machine forks or 1500 daN / 3300 lbs.
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Moore the pallet with a 4 m / 13’1” long sling to the hoist hook. Remove the tension hoops taking the usual precautions (beware of lash). The machine is fixed on the pallet by means of two side supports and one central support. Remove the 6 carriage screws which secure the supports to the pallet.
Page 17
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Remove the drawbar pivot pin after having taken out the fastening screw. With the hoist engage the drawbar into its mounting yoke. Also push the spiral wrap containing the hose and the electric cables in proper location. Reinstall the pivot pin after having coated it with grease.
Page 18
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Remove the packing support located at the front of the drawbar, underneath the Gyrodine hitch, and reinstall the two screws (used later on to fix a cover). Remove the parking stand hinge pin. Fit the parking stand in its mounting yoke. Reinstall the parking stand hinge pin.
Page 19
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Using the hoist, pivot the drawbar until the end of the swing cylinder engages into the frame mounting clevis. Reinstall the pivot pin removed previously. Secure the pivot pin with the corresponding screw. Remove the intermediate PTO shield. (rein- stall screws which will be used to reassem- ble).
Page 20
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Secure the yoke with the clamp bolt (the bolt concave part on the shaft side). Ensure the intermediate PTO shield butts against the tab as shown. Install the cover on the inspection hole of the intermediate PTO yoke and secure it using the pre-fitted fixation screws.
Page 21
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Secure the housing on its support using the screws and spacer washers removed previ- ously. After having removed the clamp bolt, drive the yoke of the secondary PTO into the splined shaft of the intermediate PTO. Secure the yoke using the clamp bolt (the concave part of the bolt is placed against the shaft).
Page 22
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Mount the steering swivel rod for the interme- diate PTO constant velocity joint on the un- derside of the drawbar. Fit and secure the hose support using the swivel hitch fastening screw removed previ- ously. Remove primary PTO guard cone. Use a screwdriver or the knife mounting wrench to open the cone securing clips.
Page 23
MACHINE ASSEMBLY After having removed the clamp bolt, slide the primary PTO yoke into the splined shaft of the Gyrodine hitch. Secure the yoke using the clamp bolt (the bolt concave part against the shaft). Torque : 7 daNm. Re-install guard cone. Remove spiral wrap.
Page 24
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Attach the front end of the conditioning unit to the hook of the overhead crane by means of a textile sling. Remove the frame/conditioning unit connect- ing bracket (reinstall the two screws on the conditioner side, they will be used to fix a pro- tection cover).
Page 25
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Install the suspension adjustment crank (to do this remove the right side guard first). The mowing conditioning unit is lightened at the maximum at the factory for improved ease of handling, unpalleting and assembling. Lower the mowing conditioning unit by turn- ing the crank counter-clockwise.
Page 26
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Fit the bellow, making sure to place the grease zerk hole for the guard tube towards the outside. Secure it with the clamp collar previously removed. Reinstall the right side guard. Fix the tank to its holder with 2 screws H M8 x 45, washers and self locking nuts.
Page 27
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Fit the left side guard using the screws removed previously. Fit the deflectors to prevent crop from being projected in the drive belt case (use the pre- fitted screws). The deflectors are packed in the unassembled parts package. Remove the central support mounting bracket (scrap it).
Page 28
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Place the front pannel in the open position on top of the conditioning hood. Slide the articulation tube in the left front shield eyelet. Install the right front shield, making sure to in- sert the articulation tube in the right front shield eyelet.
Page 29
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Turn over the hood and mount it on the condi- tioning unit using the screws removed previ- ously. Place the belt guard onto the two centring studs and secure them using the three screws removed previously. Mount the front right signalling panel and light on the support located on the right side of the conditioner (use the clamp to secure the elec- tric cable).
Page 30
MACHINE ASSEMBLY Swath board assembly Slightly loosen the mounting screws of the hinge fitted on the frame left leg. Insert the left swath board in the hinge slots : tighten the hinge mounting screws to the proper torque. Proceed the same way for the right swath board.
