Note in Figure 6 that when the whip is properly installed that the cap clicks into the
D-cover when the whip is fully retracted.

Antenna Position into D-cover

Internal antenna and whip are assembled into D-cover as shown in Figure 7. Whip must
be inserted prior to inserting internal antenna
