SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. IMPORTANT: You must wash your food with clean water before consumption. Food borne illnesses can occur if food from the unit is not washed. Food born illness can cause serious sickness and or death. 2. A child using, assembling, or disassembling this system will always require adult supervision.
Page 7
During assembly make sure not to plug anything in until after the whole system has been checked for correct assembly. If you are placing your Eden Garden in a Basement: Place something underneath the reservoir to prevent it from being in direct contact with the cold cement floor.
Page 8
Insert the 2 X 5 tray inside the top of the reservoir. (You can skip steps 3, 4, if you are not doing a full assembly). Take the trough leg and trough and place them together like depicted in the picture below:...
Page 9
Place the 2 X 6 tray on top of the two troughs and trough legs tabs after they are attached to the reservoir Installing Pump: After checking the submersible hydroponics pump for defects, and confirming it’s safe, place the white pump adapter into the pump outlet. The pump outlet is the hole at the top of the hydroponics pump.
Page 10
Without the pump plugged in: Place the pump with adaptor into the reservoir. There is a slot on the side of the reservoir for routing the hydroponic pump cord in and out of the reservoir. With the pump unplugged: Push the Food grade hose (or just hose) into the adaptor and route the hose through the .265”...
Page 11
Complete the routing by pushing the hose through the .265” hole in the upper tray (2x6). Push the food grade 90 into the hose and pull back the hose until 90 is snug in hole.
Page 12
Place 2x6 Tray Cover on top of Expansion Tray. Place either 2x5 Tray Cover or 1x4 Tray cover on the Reservoir Tray. The 2x5 tray is better for leafy greens. If you plan on growing larger fruit bearing plants or using DWC we recommend that you use the 1x4 Tray Cover Place the access door on the cover.
Page 13
LIGHTING ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Please check to make sure all the assembly parts have been included and are intact prior to system assembly. The parts are listed on Pg. 5 “Parts List” section of this manual. 1. Confirm that everything is unplugged before proceeding. Insert the bottom pipe (Long and Skinny) into the base.
Page 14
Push the Vertical Rod (Short, Wider) into the middle hole of the base. Unscrew the adjustor pieces and push the bottom piece onto the slightly narrower vertical rod (short, skinny).
Page 15
Place the narrow vertical rod into the wider vertical rod and push the adjustor into the wider rod until it bottoms out. Take the top piece of the adjustor and screw it slightly onto bottom adjustor piece.
Page 16
Take the 90 connector, push it onto the narrow vertical rod. Ensure the 90 is placed correctly as seen in picture with the “hook” end placed upward. The hole depths are different and if placed wrong will make the light stand not fit together properly. Complete steps 5-9 for the other base (on the other side).
Page 17
Take the long and wider rod and push it into the 90 connector on both sides. To adjust the height, simply unscrew the adjustor on both sides and lift the top rod to desired height. Once height is reached, tighten the adjustors and it will lock the height. We recommend not raising the height too high to start.
Page 18
6. Attach both ratchet hook around top pipe on light stand and hook back on to itself. 7. *Important* Remove the plastic covers on the end of the fluorescent bulbs before placing them into the light housing. Place the bulbs into the housing and turn ¼ of a full turn or 90 degrees.
Page 19
8. With two people lift the lights and hook the lights to the ratchet hooks. - You can now use the ratchet function to raise and lower the lights as needed. You can also raise the light support with the adjustable rods as needed To raise: Simply pull on the cord.
Page 20
9. Plug in your light and turn it on to test the assembly. If it does not work, please check the troubleshooting guide in this instruction manual. 10. Slide in the assembled lighting unit so that your plants have adequate lighting. Place the bottom rod between the Trough Legs and Reservoir as seen in the picture below.
Page 21
Turn the outer ring clockwise (it will not turn counter-clockwise) until the arrow points to the current time. Now push down the black tabs for the time you want the lights “ON.” The tabs are in 15-minute increments. If you push tabs up, they will be in the “OFF” mode. We recommend 16 hours on for most plants and 8 hours off.
Page 22
USER INSTRUCTIONS Water: - We strongly recommend using RO (reverse Osmosis) water. This is the same water you will find in 5-gallon jugs for water coolers. RO water is inexpensive and widely available. - Town and City water is acceptable, however not as preferred to as RO water. - Well water is not recommended.
Page 24
Now that you know the ratios and lifecycles, we can finally add water and test for leaks / proper assembly. Always add water and nutrients together. Do not add water one day and nutrients the next day. This avoids confusion and keeps things simple.
Page 25
Planting 4. Place rockwool plug into each planting cup in use. 5. Insert the Cups in the tray holes. Cups should clip into holes in Tray Cover. 6. Place seeds on top of cup and push seeds down 1/8 of an inch into rockwool.
Page 26
Tips for Seeds On this page we will go over additional information specific to seeds. The Eden Garden is incredibly unique. You can use any seeds with this garden. You do not need to buy special seeds, or specific pods with this system.
Page 28
Maintenance If you keep the system clean and prevent debris from falling into the reservoir, you can reduce the maintenance substantially. The Eden Garden does not require much maintenance if you keep on top of things. 1. Most importantly remove dead plant matter from the system. This includes leaves that fall off the plant, harvested plant remains, and roots from the plants after they are harvested.
Page 29
Cleaning Eden Garden Over time the system will accumulate debris and it could lead to hoses being plugged, or a need to completely clean out the system and put clean water back HOSE IS PLUGGED If the hose is plugged: - Pull off the 90 and run the hose back through the 2x6 and 2x5 tray.
Page 30
Cleaning the System If you follow the maintenance recommendations, you should only need to clean the Eden Garden every 6 months or so. We strongly recommend you plan to clean the system when you a finished a harvest. Try to get the water a low as possible to make moving the reservoir easier.
Page 31
Cleaning a System with Plants In It We strongly recommend cleaning your system after a harvest if you can. However, if you are having serious issues with your garden you may need to clean it while you are growing plants. If you want to keep your plants and still clean the system here is the best way to do it.
Page 32
5. Clean the Reservoir Tray and place it off to the side with the Drain end Raised. 6. Put the Reservoir Tray Cover plants onto the now clean Reservoir Tray. Try to keep the Reservoir Tray with the drain tilted up so the water does not drain on the floor. 7.
Page 33
8. Take the Expansion Tray Cover plants onto the now clean Expansion Tray. Try to keep the Expansion Tray Tilted so the drain is the on the highest side. This will keep any water from the plants from dripping on the floor. 9.
Page 34
Advanced Gardening Information In this section we will go into more detail about how to optimize the system. We do our absolute best to try and make hydroponics as simple as possible. You can still have great success without doing everything in the “advanced gardening information” section.

Air pump to make sure your water is always oxygenated. At the time this manual was printed there is not air pump available specifically from Hope Innovations, however they can easily be purchased from any pet store / aquarium dealer.
Page 39
Switching Into Deep Water Culture The Eden Garden can be converted to utilize the Deep Water Culture (DWC) method of hydroponics. This method is great for growing larger plants as it gives the roots more space to grow. You will need to purchase an air pump for aeration when using the DWC method.
Page 40
We will need to pull the hose back to the reservoir so we can remove the tray. Remove the 90 from the food grade hose on the. Expansion Tray (Full System) or Reservoir Tray (Compact System). 1. Pull the hose Back through the expansion tray, trough, and finally the reservoir tray. When you are done there should only be food grade hose in the reservoir.
Page 41
2. Now that the hose is free we can remove the Reservoir Tray. We will start by first taking off the 2x5 Tray cover with the plants so we can access the Reservoir Tray. 3. Now we can access the Reservoir. Tray. Pull it out carefully. Make sure not to pull off the trough or Expansion Tray in the process.
Page 42
4. Place the 1x4 Tray cover with plants back on top of the reservoir. 5. If you have a Compact System you are done. If you have a Full System you now just have to run the hose back through the trough, and Expansion Tray. Once the hose has been run through it, place the 90 on top and you are done!
Page 43
There is a switch on the side of the lights, so make sure it is in the right position. If lights still do not turn on there may be an issue with the ballast (fixture), and it will need to be replaced. Contact Hope Innovations and they will send you a new light assembly.
