Disassembly Procedures Removing the Side Panel Put the computer on a flat surface. Remove the two screws securing the side panel to the chassis. Removing the ODD Module Disconnect the power and data cables from the ODD module. Press the retaining latch (1) and slide the ODD module out of the chassis (2).

Force eject the ODD tray by inserting a thin metal object into the ODD emergency eject hole. Disengage the latch securing the ODD bezel to the ODD tray and detach the bezel from the ODD module.

Detach the HDD bracket from the chassis. Slide the HDD carrier out of the bracket.

Pull both sides of the HDD carrier (1) then remove the HDD (2).

Removing the Thermal Module WARNING: The heatsink becomes very hot when the system is on. Wait for the heatsink to cool off before proceeding with below steps. Removing the Processor IMPORTANT: Before removing a processor from the mainboard, make sure to create a backup file of all important data. WARNING:The processor becomes very hot when the system is on. Allow it to cool off first before handling. Press the load lever and move it to the right to release the load lever from the retention tab.

Removing the Memory Modules Press outward the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot to release the DIMM (1), then gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the mainboard (2). Removing the SSD Module Remove the screw securing the SSD module to the mainboard. Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN module. NOTE: For reference during machine reassembly, note which cable color corresponds to the main and auxiliary connectors. Removing the HDD and ODD Power and Data Cables Release the cables from the cable tie. Disconnect and remove the HDD and ODD power and data cables from the mainboard.
Removing the Speaker Disconnect the speaker cable from the mainboard. Release the WLAN cable from the adhesive tape securing it to the speaker.

Removing the WLAN Antenna Cables Release the WLAN antenna cable from the plastic clip securing it to the chassis. Detach the WLAN antenna cover from the chassis.

Removing the Mainboard Release the OBR cable from the plastic clip securing it to the mainboard. Disconnect the chassis intrusion, power button/LED and OBR cables from the mainboard.
