    Disassembly Procedures Removing the Side Panel Put the computer on a flat surface. Remove the two screws securing the side panel to the chassis. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Black 6.0 ± 0.5 kgf-cm 86.SR2D1.001 Slide the side panel toward the back of the chassis until the tabs on the side panel disengage with the slots on the chassis.

    Removing the ODD Module Disconnect the power and data cables from the ODD module. Press the retaining latch (1) and slide the ODD module out of the chassis (2).
  • Page 5 Remove the two screws securing the rear and side brackets to the ODD. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Silver 1.5 ± 0.3 kgf-cm 86.UAXD1.001 Detach the rear and side brackets from the ODD.
  • Page 6 Force eject the ODD tray by inserting a thin metal object into the ODD emergency eject hole. Disengage the latch securing the ODD bezel to the ODD tray and detach the bezel from the ODD module.

    Removing the Front Bezel Release the front bezel retention tabs from the chassis interior. Pull the front bezel away from the chassis.

  • Page 9 Detach the HDD bracket from the chassis. Slide the HDD carrier out of the bracket.

    Removing the HDD/ODD Bracket Remove the three screws securing the HDD/ODD bracket to the chassis. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Silver 6.0 ± 0.5 kgf-cm 86.5A5B6.012 Silver 6.0 ± 0.5 kgf-cm 86.SPZD1.003 Detach the HDD/ODD bracket from the chassis.

    Removing the Processor IMPORTANT: Before removing a processor from the mainboard, make sure to create a backup file of all important data. WARNING:The processor becomes very hot when the system is on. Allow it to cool off first before handling. Press the load lever and move it to the right to release the load lever from the retention tab.

    Removing the Memory Modules Press outward the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot to release the DIMM (1), then gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the mainboard (2).     Removing the SSD Module Remove the screw securing the SSD module to the mainboard. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Silver 1.5 ± 0.3 kgf-cm 86.VQXD1.001 Remove the SSD module from the mainboard. Note: WEEE Annex VII component.     Removing the WLAN Module Remove the screw securing the WLAN module to the mainboard. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Silver 1.5 ± 0.3 kgf-cm 86.VQXD1.001 Detach the WLAN bracket from the WLAN module.
  • Page 20 Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN module. NOTE: For reference during machine reassembly, note which cable color corresponds to the main and auxiliary connectors.     Removing the Expansion Boards Remove the three screws securing the expansion board brackets to the chassis. Quantity Color Torque Part Number Screw Type Silver 6.0 ± 0.5 kgf-cm 86.SPZD1.003 Unlatch the metal clip securing the expansion board brackets to the chassis.

    Removing the Speaker Disconnect the speaker cable from the mainboard. Release the WLAN cable from the adhesive tape securing it to the speaker.

    Removing the Mainboard Release the OBR cable from the plastic clip securing it to the mainboard. Disconnect the chassis intrusion, power button/LED and OBR cables from the mainboard.
