Internal memory format error.
• The format of the internal memory (HDR-
UX20) of the camcorder is different from
the original format set at the time of
purchase. You may be able to use the
original format by performing [MEDIA
FORMAT] (p. 78). The data of the current
format is all deleted.
The Image Database File is
damaged. Do you want to create a

HD movie management information
is damaged. Create new
information?
• The image management file is damaged.
When you touch [YES], a new image
management file is created. The old
recorded images on the "Memory Stick
PRO Duo" cannot be played back (Image
files are not damaged). If you perform
[REPAIR IMG.DB F.] after creating new
image management file, playing back the
old recorded images may become possible.
If it does not work, copy the image to a
computer using the supplied software.

• You are trying to play back an
incompatible disc with your camcorder.
• You are trying to play back an image
recorded with a copyright protection
signal.
Z Need to unfinalize disc.
• To record on the finalized DVD+RW/
DVD-RW (VIDEO mode in the case of SD
(standard definition) image quality),
unfinalize it (p. 80).
Z Disc error. Remove disc.
• Your camcorder cannot recognize the disc,
because the disc is incompatible, or has
scratches.
Z Disc error. Unsupported
format.
• The disc recorded in the different format
code from your camcorder. Formatting the
disc may enable you to use the disc on your
camcorder (DVD-RW/DVD+RW only)
(p. 79).
Reinsert the Memory Stick.
• Reinsert the "Memory Stick PRO Duo" a
few times. If even then the indicator
flashes, the "Memory Stick PRO Duo"
could be damaged. Try with another
"Memory Stick PRO Duo."
This Memory Stick is not
formatted correctly.
• Check the format, then format the
"Memory Stick PRO Duo" with your
camcorder if necessary (p. 78, 129).
