SAFETY MEASURES HARVESTERS RD75/90/P 3. SAFETY MEASURES. The design of our machines has taken into account and been very careful with those parts that are likely to cause accidents during working and maintainance operations. So, we have adequately protected all the in-motion elements (mobile, rotating, etc.) that, according to the task they have to perform, can be protected.
  • Page 13 SAFETY MEASURES HARVESTERS RD75/90/P NEVER HANDLE THE MACHINE IF THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND ONE OR MORE PROTECTION COVERS (OR GRIDS) HAVE BEEN REMOVED OR DO NOT STAND WHERE THEY SHOULD. § No one can stand upon the machine under any circumstances when it is working or being transported.

  • Page 84: Guidelines On Almond Harvesters

GUIDELINES ON HARVESTERS HARVESTERS RD75/90/P 19. GUIDELINES ON ALMOND HARVESTER 1. TRACTOR Tractor is one of the main points that growers have to take into account when they plan to buy a harvester, because it is a voluminous and heavy machine that will have a cantilever effect on the tractor.
  • Page 85 GUIDELINES ON HARVESTERS HARVESTERS RD75/90/P § The more HP your tractor has (generally, more HP means more weight), the better you will work (quicker, easier, and safer). You will also avoid unpleasant situations on uneven grounds. § In order to consider to mount a harvester on a fruit tractor, you will have to take into account not only HP, but also the weight of the tractor.
  • Page 86 GUIDELINES ON HARVESTERS HARVESTERS RD75/90/P The weight of the HARVESTER is about 1.290 Kg. To give you an idea about cantilever effect on the tractor, the length between the hitching points and the end of the box is box is 3,10 m.
  • Page 87 GUIDELINES ON HARVESTERS HARVESTERS RD75/90/P Secondly, pruning is also important to give a good orientation to the main branches, so that they will not obstruct the umbrella of the harvester when it folds/unfolds. The arms of the umbrella pivot at a height of about 1,70 m, occupying all the volume included in the area of the radius of the umbrella multiplied by the height of its arms.
  • Page 88 GUIDELINES ON HARVESTERS HARVESTERS RD75/90/P Thus, it is very difficult, and even impossible, to define what is the narrowest framework possible. Let’s take an example for a plantation at 4x4 metre with an Ø 6- m umbrella (shorter than standard umbrella, with height of arms would be around 1,50 m).
