    Block diagram The signals and parameter settings depicted in the diagram are re- quired for a speed-controlled 12-pulse drive with DCS 500 in a Master-Slave configuration. The function block shown is included in the basic software, and is activated when required using Parameter 1209.

    Both units work more or less independently, controlling their own line contactors and the enables. Switch-on/switch-off For the DCS 500 in its 12-pulse mode, an additional logic is pro- logic vided, which in the event of an error will disable both units through the INHIBIT input of the drive logic.

    For instructions on start-up, please consult the Installation and Start-up Manual (DCS 500). It is best to disconnect the non-active unit from the mains, or at least to disable it by suppressing the firing pulses.
