7. Align brake connector (K) on
sprocket guard cover (C) to
groove on the side of the front
hand guard (A). Install and
tighten sprocket guard nut (B),
finger tight.
8. Adjust saw chain tension, as
instructed in "Adjust Chain
Tension".
Adjust Chain Tension
Make sure engine is stopped before performing any of the
procedures that follow. Saw chain is sharp! Always wear gloves
when handling assembly. Failure to follow instructions can
cause serious personal injury.
Make sure you loosen sprocket guard nut before chain tension
adjuster is turned. Failure to follow instructions can damage the
sprocket guard and tensioner.
1. Use T-Wrench to open air
cleaner cover latch. Disconnect
spark plug lead.
2. Unlock chain brake (A).
3. Loosen sprocket guard nut (B).
4. Hold the bar nose up, and turn
the adjuster screw (C) toward
(+) until chain contacts
underside of the bar.
