Making and receiving calls

Making a call

Pick up the handset.
You hear a dial tone.

Dial a phone number.

When you're done talking, place the handset in the cradle.
The call is disconnected.
Receiving a call
When you hear the phone ring, pick up the handset. When you're done
talking, place the handset in the cradle.

Set the RINGER LEVEL switch to H (High), L (Low) or OFF.
Adjust the handset
During phone conversations, set the HANDSET VOLUME
switch. You can select the volume level from three level
volume
positions.
Switch to tone dialing
Press TONE (*) after you're connected.
temporarily
The line will remain in tone dialing until disconnected.
Press (FLASH).
Switch to another call
Press (FLASH) again to get back to the first caller.

Redialing
You can redial the last number called with just one touch of the (REDIAL/PAUSE)
button. This lets you easily redial the same number again if, for example, the line
was busy.

Pick up the handset.
You hear a dial tone.

Press (REDIAL/PAUSE) to redial the number last dialed.
Note
You can redial the number which consists of up to 32 digits, including a press of tone or
pause, each of which is counted as one digit.
Putting a call on hold

During phone conversation, press (HOLD).
The HOLD lamp flashes.
You can place the handset back in the cradle.

To resume conversation, pick up the handset.
Tip
If you pick up another phone connected to the same phone line, the hold will be
automatically released and you will be able to resume conversation on that phone.

Speed dialing

You can dial with a touch of a few keys by storing a phone number on a dialing
key. You can store up to 10 speed dialing numbers.
Storing phone numbers

Pick up the handset.

Press (PGM).

Enter the phone number you want to store.
You can enter up to 16 digits, including a press of tone or pause, each
of which is counted as one digit.

Press (SPEED DIAL).

Press one of the dialing keys ((0) to (9)) to store a phone number
on.

Place the handset back in the cradle.
Note
Do not allow more than 20 seconds to elapse between each step of the procedure.
To store a number to be dialed via Private Branch Exchange (PBX)
Before entering a phone number in Step 3, do as follows:

Enter the outside line access digit (e.g., 9).

Press (REDIAL/PAUSE).
To change a stored number
Store a new number, as described previously.
Making calls with speed dialing

Pick up the handset.

Press (SPEED DIAL).
3
Enter the desired speed dialing number ((0) to (9)).
The phone number stored in the speed dialing number will be dialed.
