With any cargo loaded in the Co‐Pilot, the additional weight on the handlebars will affect steering and
braking ‐ please use caution! Travelin K9 is not liable for any damage caused by aggressive, destructive,
immature or untrained pets; additionally Travelin K9 is not liable for damage or injury caused by reckless or
aggressive bicycle maneuvers performed by the bicycle operator, or improper installation.
General Use guidelines
1. Please read warning section above before using your Co‐Pilot with your pet or any cargo.
2. The design of the handlebar attachment straps allows the Co‐Pilot to be used on virtually any
bicycle. However, if you have several handlebar accessories, it may be difficult finding a spot to
route (wrap) the straps.
3. Routinely check the security and snugness of the attachment points if going on a long ride.
4. Your Co‐Pilot can be cleaned by vacuuming the interior and using a soft bristled brush on the
exterior to remove dried dirt, followed by light cleaning with a damp cloth and a quick rinse.
5. For the best riding experience Travelin' K9 recommends the Co‐Pilot for small pets (up to 10
pounds) plus up to 5 pounds of cargo in the pockets.

- Page 3 Basket Assembly Instructions 1. Fabric Body – gently open all 4 Velcro flaps, found on the top edge. 2. Front Panel – Insert front panel in the pocket 3. Padded Bottom Panel – angle in at the back, under the safety strap – and gently push down in front until pad sits level. 4. Steel Frame a. Place steel frame at top of basket inside both the front and rear panels. i. Steel image frame visible (see previous image). b. Make sure frame is above the velcro strips. c. Close front and rear flaps, make sure velcro makes good contact. The front and rear flaps, when closed, keep the steel bar in position. 5. Side Panels a. Place side panels in position – Velcro UP and facing IN, covering the steel frame. *tip: angle the panel towards the back first, then gently push in at front. 6. With “top flaps” still open … ensure steel frame is above Velcro, then close flaps and ensure good contact with matching Velcro strip. This keeps steel frame in position. Bicycle attachment Instructions 1. Take each top attachment strap and thread through the square chrome ring. *tip: it helps to have two people for these final steps. 2. Wrap each attachment strap around your handlebars at least twice leaving no slack. *tip: position basket so that is sitting slightly raised in the front ‐ cargo weight will level it out. a. Optional Gripper Strips – placed under each strap. Designed for extra grip to keep the attachment straps from sliding on slick chrome handlebars. (see steps diagram below) 3. Click/close each connector attached to the rear of your Co‐Pilot into the top strap and tighten. 4.
- Page 4 NOTE: During testing energetic dogs would not sit still until the bike was in motion. This is a new experience for you and your dog. Be patient while they learn how it works and how enjoyable it can be! TIP: Install the Basket tilted high in the front and the attachment straps cinched tight. The weight of the cargo tends to level the basket out as it adds extra tension to the straps. Limited 1 year warranty Travelin’K9, Inc. warrants to the original consumer, that this product will be free of defects for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Travelin’K9’s liability here under is limited to the replacement of the product only. This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, tampering or other causes not arising from defects in material or workmanship. To exercise your warranty: If during the warranty period, your product malfunctions, return it to the place of purchase with your original receipt. If this cannot be done, return the product, postage prepaid, to Travelin’K9, Inc. with dated proof of purchase or original receipt. All returns to Travelin’K9 require an RMA which can be obtained by going to www.travelin‐k9.com and completing the Return Request Form which provides us the details of your return request.
