b) Operation

An unpleasant odour due to housing parts heating up is possible for some time during initial
commissioning. In this case ventilate the room in which the product is installed.
• Push out the on/off switch (1) on the control panel (F).
• Connect the mains plug of the mains cable (C) into a mains socket.
• Push in the on/off switch. The LCD (6) starts to flash for a few seconds and displays the basic setting of
the thermostat at 25 °C. The operating control light (3) lights up only during heating operation. It is not
necessary to set the heat output with the rotary switch (2) to the maximum value to start heating.
• If the ambient temperature at the thermostat is below 25 °C, the product switches on. If the ambient
temperature is above this, the product switches off.
• Set the desired shutdown temperature with the + and – keys (8). It is displayed digitally in the temperature
display (4). You can select values between 16 - 32 °C. The product heats to keep the set temperature in
the environment as constant as possible. The product switches on when the temperature drops 2 ºC
below the set thermostat temperature.
• Adjust the heat output continuously with the rotary switch (2). The currently set heat output is visually
shown in the power display (5) as a bar diagram with bars of different lengths and a number. The
adjustable power range extends from 800 W to the maximum rated power.
• Press the ECO key (9) to switch the product to Eco mode. The ECO display (7) appears in the LCD.
The product switches on again in Eco mode when the temperature drops 2  ºC below the shutdown
temperature of Eco mode.
The product operates with a generally lower thermostat temperature setting in Eco mode. All
manual thermostat settings are automatically set 3 °C lower. For example, at a setting of 25 °C,
the thermostat switches off the product at an ambient temperature of 22 °C. The product restarts
at an ambient temperature of 20 °C in Eco mode.

10. Safety equipment

• A thermal shutdown switches the heating off automatically in the event of overheating, e.g. if the radiator
is covered. It restarts automatically when the temperature has dropped to the normal value again.
• A thermal fuse is used to switch off the product when an excessive temperature is reached if all other
safety equipment fails. This fuse cannot be reset. It must be replaced by technical personnel.
• A safety switch switches the product off when it is no longer in an upright position, e.g. if it tips over. It
switches on again when it is put into an upright position.
