9/FUNCTION CALCULATIONS
Scientific function keys can be utilized as subroutines of four basic calculations (includ-
ing parenthesis calculations).
This calculator computes as a=3.141592654 and e=2.718281828.
' In some scientific functions, the display disappears momentarily while complicated for-
mulas are being processed. So do not enter numerals or press the function key until the
previous answer is displayed.
'You cannot specify the unit of angular measurement (degrees, radians, grads) or the
display format (FIX, SCI) while the calculator is in the BASE-N mode. Such specifica-
tions can only be made if you first exit the BASE-N mode.

9-1 Sexagesimal Decimal conversion
The ® key converts the sexagesimal figure (degree, minute and second) to decimal no-
tation. Operation of
converts the decimal notation to the sexagesimal notation.
