    The DistanTV Streaming Server is configured as the subgroup “Tools” of the program group “PCTV Systems” on the server computer during the installation. Be sure to perform a channel scan on the server computer after the installation of the TVCenter application.

    PCTV Systems DistanTV Installing the Client-Application You only need to install the DistanTV Client on the computer you want to use as a client. The DistanTV Client allows you to establish a connection to the server computer and to access the channel lists saved there.

    The DistanTV Server DistanTV Streaming Server - Overview The DistanTV Streaming Server is a part of the TVCenter application and runs in the background. The purpose of this program is to stream live TV, in other words, to transmit TV channels from the server computer to the client computer in real time.

    The DistanTV Client DistanTV Client - Overview The DistanTV Client is a program that you can use to receive live TV on a computer that does not have PCTV hardware installed (client computer) as long as you have a computer with PCTV hardware installed (server computer) and connected to your home network.

    Resizing the DistanTV Client Window The DistanTV Client window can be changed to almost any size. If the DistanTV Client window is smaller than the normal standard size, the "Name/IP Address of the Server PC" field can no longer be displayed.

    If a connection is not automatically established to a server, you can establish it manually.     Glossary 16:9 format: Also called widescreen. Television format where the width-to- height ratio of the display area is 16:9 instead of 4:3. When broadcast for television, part of the picture is broadcast in black (black bars on top and bottom of the picture) to make it compatible with the traditional 4:3 format.
