3.3 Frequently asked questions and service

What happens if I take off the chest belt during training?
The clock no longer receives a signal and the indication "O"
appears on the display. After a short while the PC 15
switches to inactive mode (stop watch no longer runs).
What is the effect of changing from the 24-hour to the
12-hour clock, apart from the time display?
The PC 15 switches automatically from kg mode (24-hour
clock) to lb mode (12-hour clock).
Do SIGMA SPORT pulse computers switch off completely?
No. In inactive mode only time, date and "PC 15" are indicated,
so that you can also use the pulse computer as a normal
wristwatch. In this state the PC 15 uses very little power.
Can I use the chest belt on a treadmill?
Yes – the signals can be received and displayed by almost
all corresponding heart-measuring equipment.
Are SIGMA SPORT pulse computers watertight, and can they
be used for swimming?
Yes – up to a depth of three metres. Please note that the keys
should not be pressed underwater, as this may allow water to
enter the casing. Avoid using in seawater, since this can lead
to function disturbances.
What may cause the display indicator to react sluggishly or
show a black colouration?
The operating temperature may be too hot or too cold.
Your pulse computer is intended for use in temperatures
between 1°C and 55°C.
How do you remedy a weak display image?
A weak display image can result from a weak battery.
The battery should be changed as quickly as possible –

3.4 Changing the battery

Battery CR 2032 (art. no. 00342) is used in the Heart Rate
Monitor. The SIGMA SPORT Heart Rate Monitor is a high-tech
measuring instrument. To guarantee function and watertight
properties, changing the battery should be done very carefully.
Changing the battery incorrectly can damage the Heart Rate
Monitor and render the guarantee void.
After changing the battery all personal data must be
inputted again.
On the back of your PC 15 is a battery
compartment lid.
Simply use a coin to open this when you
need to change the battery.
Open the battery compartment lid by turning
the coin in an anti-clockwise direction. The
battery is on the inside of the lid (CR 2032)
and can now be changed easily.
Please take care to insert the battery the
right way round (plus/minus).
To close again, use the coin to turn the lid in
a clockwise direction into the back of the Heart
Rate Monitor. Please make sure that the
sealing ring is once again situated properly in
the lid depression, otherwise your PC 15 will
not be watertight.
