Basic Operation

Today Screen
When you turn on your Maestro for the first time each day (or after 4
hours of inactivity), you'll see the Today screen. You can also display
it by tapping
and then Today. On the Today screen, you can see at
a glance important information you need for the day.
Tap to switch to
a program.
Tap to change volume or mute all sounds.
Tap to create a
new item
Navigation Bar and Command Bar
The navigation bar is located at the top of the screen. It displays
the program you are currently running as well as the current time.
It also allows you to switch to other programs and close screens.
The command bar is located at the bottom of the screen. It displays
the input panel button and the activities you can perform (new, edit,
etc.) within each program.
Program Name
Input Methods
You can enter information in any program on your Maestro by typing
with the soft Keyboard, or writing using Letter Recognizer.
The Letter Recognizer input panel is divided into three writing areas.
Letters written in the left area (labeled ABC) will create uppercase
letters, and letters written in the middle area (labeled abc) will create
lowercase letters. The right area (labeled 123) is for writing numbers,
symbols, special characters, and punctuation.
For more information on using Letter Recognizer and for demos of all
characters, tap the question mark next to the writing area on the Letter
Recognizer input panel.

To Browse the Internet

Obtain the following information from your ISP: ISP dial-up access
telephone number, user name, password, and TCP/IP settings. Some ISPs
require information in front of the user name, such as MSN/ username.

Connect the cellular phone (CDM-9100) to your Maestro, using a
specified connection cable (included).
If you want to connect to Verizon Wireless, jump to step 9.

Tap
and then Settings. In the Connections tab, tap Connections.
Under The Internet Settings, select Internet Settings and tap Modify.

In the Modem tab, tap New.

Enter a name for the connection, such as "ISP Connection."

In the Select a Modem list, select CDM-9100 Series and tap Next.

Enter the access phone number and tap Next.

Select other desired options and tap Finish. To exit Internet
Settings, tap OK.

To switch to Pocket Internet Explorer, tap

Tap View and then Address Bar. In the address bar that appears
at the top of the screen, enter the web address you want to visit and
then tap Go. Tap the arrow to choose from previously entered addresses.
To end the connection, tap Tools, End, and then tap the connection
icon on the Today screen, and then tap End.
