You will have two options on the W7 that say Band Steering and Clone to 5 GHz. Band Steering pushes devices that support 5 GHz over to that band instead of keeping them on the more congested 2.4 GHz band.
  • Page 14: Advanced Settings In Global Configuration

    6. The 5 GHz settings will look similar to the 2.4 GHz settings. You will be asked how many SSIDs you need. 7. Once you have selected the number of SSIDs you want, you can configure the SSID name, security, password, etc. 8.
  • Page 15: Guest Network (Optional)

Channel mode: This option will allow you to set the channel width of your access points. When set to 40 MHz, the access points will be allowed to use more channels to increase throughput (speeds). Although this can be beneficial, it can also cause issues. If you are in a popluated area, using more channels will increase the chances of encountering interference.
  • Page 16 2. Here you can change the SSID and password of the guest network. You have the option to change the subnet that the guest network is on, if desired. The Default Gateway must be set to the IP address of your router. The DNS can usually use the same IP as your default gateway, but you can use a publicly available DNS server such as 8.8.8.8 as well.
