Absolute/Relative
Absolute = your gains are FIXED
Relative = they are based on your transmitters setting. You can adjust them LIVE while flying.
You may set REL/100% in the Rx, then in the Tx adjust GAIN input to 0%, go fly and start adjusting the gains
higher and higher until you find the flight characteristics you desire. Then using the values displayed on the
transmitter screen go back to the app and change from REL 100% to Absolute XX% basically locking settings
in and no longer being able to adjust in flight.
With the some transmitters you can in the Telemetry Menu/Function enable AS3X and you will have your gyro
gains displayed on the transmitter screen for each flight mode.
Rx Orientation
Mount the Rx securely in a connectors facing forward or connectors facing rearward position. Then adjust the
programming to match. 90deg variations are not acceptable. 180deg changes are OK. Note the green arrow is a
button to switch between face up or face down. The red arrow is a button which swaps end for end.
Surface Setup Screen
See in the image below the following:
The user has clicked on the plane image to select elevator. The Reverse checkbox is checked.
When starting out, it's usually not required to change the Travel and Balance settings.
(Someday this guide will be revised to discuss those.)
