Product description
The MB-PULSE4 module is a device that allows to convert the incoming pulses into a
Wired MBUS signal. It is equipped with four inputs, so it is possible to simultaneously
connect up to four pulse emitter devices. The device must be configured by using the
BMBUS configuration software. This allows to set primary address, medium options,
measurement units, pulse value and it allows to read and manage the MBUS network,
when properly connected to a compatible level converter. To download the software,
please connect to the following link
http://www.bmeters.com/en/bm_product/m-bus-

Connections
2
Plug the cables of pulse output devices and MBUS network passing through the rubber
cable-glands available, marked as Input 1-2 and Input 3-4 in the picture above.
Input 1-2: Connect the wires of the first pulse output to the A and B terminals, as shown
in the picture. Connect the wires of the second pulse output to the C and D terminals,
as shown in the picture.
Input 3-4: Connect the wires of the third pulse output to the E and F terminals, as shown
in the picture. Connect the wires of the fourth pulse output to the G and H terminals,
as shown in the picture.
MBUS: connect the device to the MBUS network by using the X and Y terminals.
Contacts type
Counting contacts: A [+] / B [-] for meter n.1, C [+] / D [-] for meter n.2, E [+] / F [-] for
meter n.3, G [+] / H [-] for meter n.4.
It is possible to connect pulse output devices both REED and Open Collector type. In
this second case, it is necessary to respect the polarity.
Configuration
Configure the module by using the BMBUS software.
The device will then answer via MBUS with four different secondary addresses, one per
each input. The default addresses are the following:
 Input 1: Serial Number + 01 (e.g.: 12345601);
 Input 2: Serial Number + 02 (e.g.: 12345602);
 Input 3: Serial Number + 03 (e.g.: 12345603);
 Input 4: Serial Number + 04 (e.g.: 12345604);
When the configuration is completed, close the box with the screws.
To avoid any potential tampering of the module, you can place the anti-tampering seal
(supplied together with the module) between the base of the box and the cover.
Safety
 During the installation process, handle the device with care, don't crush, don't bent,
