We recommend using this machine after reading the instruction manual carefully, keeping to the instructions
provided therein.
Before each operation cycle, make sure that the machine is in good condition. If the operating conditions are
not safe enough or a failure should be reported, the machine should not be used.
• Do not make any structural changes to the machine. Do not replace the safety pin with a heavier duty one.
• Use only original spare parts.
• Use only forks suitable for the springs. Make sure that the springs fit into the forks. The springs must be centred into
the forks.
• The fork bolts must be screwed tight.
• The spring axis must always run parallel to the compressor axis. In particular, this must be the case with conical
and elliptical springs.
• During compression, neither the springs nor the forks must touch each other.
• When using pneumatic or electric tools, never exceed 180 Nm torque.
Operating Tips
The spring compressor is for use only on MacPherson springs. It is not designed for any other use.

Operating Tips
• Remove the MacPherson spring guards.
• Choose the appropriate forks.
• Place the forks on the compressor, using the bolts supplied with the machine. Screw the Allen bolts tight. For your
safety, the bolts must be tight. Open the forks as needed to match the spring length, compressing as many coils as
possible.
• Place the compressor guard on a suitable vice.
• Fit the compressor onto the spring. Make sure that the springs have been properly fitted into the forks.
• Turn the handle with a pneumatic tool or a wrench as needed to release the upper support. Do not compress the
spring any further, because it might get deformed.
• Replace the protective spring cartridge and the upper support.
• Release the compressor and remove it.
