Some things to know about the SHERPA 100ECO:
1. Movement
a. The machine is very responsive to your touch. Even the slightest movement
of the left and right control arms will quickly move the machine left and right
respectively. Watch your knees. If you are not careful when first using the
machine you can bang them into the battery case.
b. When operating the 100ECO on asphalt or a rough surface, sometime the
machine requires more energy to turn due to the friction between the tires
and the surface. Try using both drive levers in the same direction, with one
lever fully press and the other only a minimal amount. Turning on smooth
surfaces should never be a problem.
c. Sometimes you will hear a clicking sound when turning or using multiple
functions at one time. This clicking noise is not the chain. It is the safety
check valve to make sure the motor doesn't over heat.
d. Just like any other skid steer, turning when the boom is in the air can make
the machine jump side to side. This is not recommended
e. When loading the machine onto a trailer or truck, always load facing
backwards. You not only get more power going backwards, but if you go
forwards you have a greater possibility to flip over backwards.
2. Lifting and Tilting
a. The machine is built like a cantilever system. The further out on the bucket
or pallet forks your weight is, the less the machine can lift. Try to keep your
load as close to the machine as possible for maximum lifting capacity.
b. The machine has a safety feature which allows the lift cylinders and tilt
cylinder to be lowered when the motor is not running. This happens when
you press the toggles forward. Make sure to always leave the machine with
the attachment on the ground to ensure a safe working environment.
c. The attachments are built with a double safety feature. Even if the locking
pins are not locked in, if you rotate the attachment all the way forward, it is
very difficult for the attachment to fall off. Sometimes you need to prop the
attachment up on a 4"x4" or a cinderblock to remove the attachment.
d. Never lift items with the corner of a bucket. This can cause the lifting arms
to twist leaving the arms out of alignment.
3. Maintenance
a. The maintenance guidelines are listed in the User Manual. Make sure to
follow these guidelines as they will ensure that your SHERPA 100ECO is
working optimally.
