    Load the baskets Be careful when washing items made of certain materials (see page 12). Upper basket Load glasses, cups, bowls, small plates, saucers, long items of cutlery and carving knives into the upper basket. (Take care that sharp edges do not damage the plastic of the baskets.) There are several reasons: some materials cannot withstand the high temperature, while others can be damaged by the detergent used. China/porcelain marks Modern china or porcelain may be marked underneath with a code that indicates its suitability for machine washing.
