DESCRIPTION:
The 09459R IR remote is a wired remote controller for Lafayette Instrument's Model 09947 VCR. It
is a microprocessor-based device, which allows you to take full advantage of the VCR's capabilities
and provide simple, efficient control of basic analysis needs. It is battery operated and requires 3 AAA
batteries. Six buttons on the remote allow the user to operate the VCR in play mode, reverse, slow
forward, fast forward search, fast reverse search, frame advance (forward only), and stop.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Place the IR locator bracket in front of the VCR's IR receiver module and secure by peeling the
protective coating off of the foam tape (located on the base of the locator bracket) and pressing the
tape to the bottom of the VCR. If you are unsure of where the VCR's IR receiver module is located,
the following directions will help to locate the receiver.
1. Turn on VCR and insert a tape.

With the IR emitter in proper position and with a tape in the VCR, a single press of the Play button
will instruct the VCR to go into play mode. Subsequent presses of the Play button will then toggle
the VCR between slow play speed and regular play.
Reverse
Pressing the Reverse button, while in play or pause will place the VCR into reverse play. Once the
Reverse Button is released, the VCR will go to regular play speed. If the tape is stopped, a quick
press and release of the Reverse Button will place the VCR into play mode.
Still/Step
Pressing the Still/Step button puts the VCR into pause mode. Subsequent presses of the Still/Step
button causes the VCR to advance the tape one frame.
