INTRODUCTION This operating manual (hereinafter referred to as OM) is intended to describe Marine automatic telephone system ITS-1004 (hereinafter - the System). OM describes the structure, operating principles, operating rules for the System components (hereinafter – the SC) during intended use and technical maintenance. OM may also provide information for corresponding sections of the System operational documentation, where SC may be applied as units composing the System.
ITS-1004 1 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION 1.1 Purpose Marine automatic telephone system ITS-1004 ensures telephone communication between rooms and stations of passenger and cargo vessels, submarines and ships of all classes, as well as communication with users of coastal telephone networks during anchorage.

Operating Manual 2 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM The System is a local marine automatic telephone system suitable for shipboard use. The System operation is based on automatic switching unit (central unit) which divides telephone system into internal and external, and switches calls and connections among user lines.

Operating Manual 4 INSTALLATION The SCs are installed according to dimensional and connection drawings in Appendix C. Place for SC installation shall be selected considering operational constraints (operating temperature, IP rating, explosion protection class); all required information is listed in Table 3 and Appendix C. 4.1 Central unit installation CU has hinged type of mounting to vertical bulkhead.
Marine automatic telephone system ITS-1004 5 CONNECTION 5.1 General instructions Connect SC to CU according to the diagrams represented in Appendix A. To perform basic functions, the System shall consist of the central unit and user terminals and be connected to power supply mains.

After timer expiration and if another number was not dialed, the System starts dialing pre-defined number. In this case «Direct communication» function is automatically cancelled, and connection between two UTs is set in regular mode.

Operating Manual 7.5.5 Internal user notification (voice call) Each user is allowed or prohibited to hold announcements. Permission or prohibition for the System users, user assignment to particular zone and time of announcement are specified at order on Customer request. To provide internal announcement of one user, voice call may be used, i.e., call signal type is changed (ringing call to voice call).

Marine automatic telephone system ITS-1004 8 TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE The units must be stored in packaging inside areas complying with the required storage conditions (+ 5…+ 40 °С) with the concentration of dust, oil, moisture and aggressive impurities in the air within the required limits for the working areas of production facilities.
Operating Manual 9 DISPOSAL New equipment, the parts of the Product damaged during operation, and any overage equipment must not be disposed as standard household wastes, since they contain the materials suitable for re-use. Decommissioned and non-used components of the Product must be delivered to a special waste disposal center licensed by local authorities.
