Installation The ideal position to locate the TPST201 room thermostat is about 1.5m above floor level. It should be mounted in a location where the thermostat is accessible, reasonably lit and free from extremes of temperature and draughts. Do not mount the thermostat on an outside wall, above a radiator or in a location where it may be subjected to direct sunlight. The electrical connections to the TPST201 are made to the backplate supplied. This simplifies installation, as no connections are made to the controller itself. • The incoming AC mains supply should be 230Vac and fused at 5amps • O ptimum cable size for installation is 1.5mm ; wiring colours should be in accordance with the current requirements of the IEE Wiring Regulations • Cable entry should be from the rear of the backplate • A ll wiring connections should be securely made, and be firmly gripped between the square brass washers on each terminal Do not restore the mains supply to the system until all associated items are fully installed. NOTE: A ll electrical installation work should be carried out by a suitably qualified Electrician or other competent person. If you are not sure how to install this thermostat consult either with a qualified electrician, heating engineer or your boiler/heating system supplier for advice on how to continue. Do not remove or refit the TPST201 onto the backplate without the mains supply to the system being isolated. User Instructions The TPST201 is adjusted very easily by turning the rotary dial on the front of the thermostat to the required temperature setting. To adjust the set temperature, turn the rotary dial to the left to decrease, or right to increase the set temperature. The indicator on the front panel will light when the temperature is below the set value, showing that the thermostat is calling for heat from the boiler. Once the room reaches the set temperature, it will turn off and the TPST201 will stop calling for heat from the boiler. Heat cut off at high temperature When room temperature is over limit at 36°C, all heating outputs will be turned off regardless of the control pattern and delay timers. Valve protection This function can be enabled/disabled by jumper, set jumper to OFF to disable this function or ON to enable this function.
