Model 4150
This Quick Start contains the instructions you need to install your
ZoomAir IG-4150 Internet Gateway and start building a wireless
network. The IG-4150 can provide wireless Internet access to mul-
tiple Client computers on a network, or it can serve as a wireless
bridge between two or more networks.
The following are the basic steps you need to install your IG-4150:

Connect the cables to establish an Internet, LAN, or WAN
connection.

Power up the IG-4150 unit.

Install the Wireless Client you want to use to configure the
IG-4150. (See the documentation for your Wireless Client.)

Install the IG-4150 Setup Utility.

Select a mode for the IG-4150 and configure its settings using
the Setup Utility.

Powering Up the Unit Plug the power adapter into an AC power outlet. CAUTION: After connecting power to the IG, do not cover the unit or block the airflow to the unit with any other objects. Monitor the LED activity on the unit. The LEDs change color from Yellow to Red to Green to indicate start-up diag- nostics. - Page 4 Click ZoomAir Software. In the ZoomAir Software screen, click Install IG-4150 Setup Utility. Follow the prompts. In the Question dialog box, you must click Yes to install the Java Runtime Environment 1.3. After you have finished the installation, the IG Setup Utility icon appears on your desktop.
- Page 5 Selecting a Mode and Configuring the IG-4150 Double-click the IG Setup Utility icon on your desktop. The Welcome screen appears. For Type of installation, select Typical. Click Continue. In the Identify your IG screen, enter the ID number of your IG unit in the IG Network Name text box.
- Page 6 After you have identified your IG, press the F12 key to check your IG Ethernet MAC-address. The following window will open. Write down the MAC-address on the last page of your user’s manual. Your cable service provider will ask for it, and you may need it if you contact Technical Support or Cus- tomer Service.
