Installation Guidelines

Installation Checklist
The following are the key points to be followed for a successful installation.

Select a Suitable Location

Environment
Locating the MFC Filter in a suitable environment will help ensure proper performance and a normal
operating life. Refer to the environmental specifications listed on Table 1.
Warning
The unit must be installed in an area where it will not be exposed to:
• Direct sunlight
• Rain or dripping liquids (unless the filter kit is installed in a Type 3R enclosure)
• Corrosive liquids or gases
• Explosive or combustible gases or dust
• Excessive airborne dirt and dust
• Excessive vibration
Make sure that the installation location will not be exposed to direct sunlight,
corrosive or combustible airborne contaminants, excessive dirt or liquids.
Select a mounting area that will allow adequate cooling air and maintenance
access.
Make sure that all wiring conforms to the requirements of the National Electric
Code (NEC) and/or other applicable electrical codes.
Connect equipment containing MFC filter to the system ground of the premises
wiring system. Use a properly sized grounding conductor.
Connect VFD three-phase wires to the terminals of the MFC: A1, B1, and C1
terminals of the KTRMG sine wave reactor
Connect MFC output terminals A2, B2, and C2 terminals of the KTRMG sine
wave reactor to the load.
Connect MFC output terminals A2, B2, and C2 to the optional damping resistor
(supplied as part of an A kit) or to the filter capacitors.
VFD faults and component damage may result if capacitor circuit is attached
directly to VFD three-phase output.
Sine wave reactor terminations can be swapped to improve wiring due to
physical orientation of components in a cabinet. In this case, all terminations
must change to be consistent. Connect VFD three-phase output to terminals
A2, B2, and C2 of KTRMG sine wave reactor. Connect load to terminals A1,
B1, and C1 of KTRMG sine wave reactor. Connect damping resistor (if used)
or filter capacitors to terminals A1, B1, and C1 of KTRMG sine wave reactor.
Unless specifically labeled as approved for such use, this equipment
is not suitable for use in an explosive atmosphere or in a "Hazardous
(Classified) Location" as defined in article 500 of the National
!
Electrical code.
