Board Troubleshooting Guide
General
Before using the board please read the accompanying leaflet fully and make sure you are
aware of all the safety considerations.
This is a prototype board so please take care when handling it. Use the accompanying micro
USB cable to plug the board to a USB power source like a battery back, a phone charger or
a computer. Take extra caution when plugging and unplugging the USB cable to the board.
Please be aware that if the board is plugged into power sources that automatically cut off
power (for example a battery pack) the board might go OFF if it is not used for some time. To
know whether the board is ON or OFF observe the red LED lights at the back, after the
board has been paired with the phone for the first time, when the board is ON at least one
LED is lit.
Board-Phone Communication
The board communicates with the phone using audio signals. It has been tuned to work best
with most phones, but due to hardware differences between phones (for example
microphone quality or sensitivity) volume might need to be tweaked to improve
communication.
On the phone side, you can use the volume buttons to experiment with audio volume and
make sure you find the best fit for phone-to-board communication.
On the board side, if you need to change the playback volume to make it play louder or
quieter, follow these steps:
1. Set switches 2,4,6,8 to ON and the rest to OFF
2. Hold button on the board while powering it up/plugging it in
3. You should now be in "volume set" mode
4. LEDs will indicate a volume scale, use the left encoder to increase/decrease
5. Once happy with the volume set all switches to OFF to enter game play
6. Please note that this change is not saved and has to be performed every time the
board is plugged in
